Firestone

Would happen to be the name of the kitten Ryan brought home, yes Firestone like the tire.  I always figured I would be the first to bring home some sort of animal but seeing as how we just lost our beloved Clair (more about her in another post) and never being a huge cat fan I had just backed off for a bit.

I mean a puppy needs more attention then I have time to give it, I cant leave it alone for 8 hours a day and not feel bad.  So I let go of that dream for now and just kind of moved on to wanting a fish, but then fish need food, cleaning, and some (very little true but some) attention and well I just don't feel like cleaning up fish poop.

So today when Ryan text asking if I wanted a kitten (an idea we tosses around as a joke, neither one of us have ever had a cat, because they are easier to take care of  than a puppy) I thought he was joking and told him "Only if you clean up its poop and pee because I can't do it the dust from the cat litter gets everywhere and I find it nasty and dirty ( I cat sit and just cough like crazy when I have to clean the box out, dog poop all day long, why I don't know but I can)" and low and behold he comes in with this cute little runt of a kitten named Firestone one of his customers had found around their shop and needed a home for.  Poor thing is so small, however they say it has had all of its shots and been dewormed but tomorrow I am taking this cute little fur ball to the vet just to make sure, and soon she/he will be getting declawed because its already all over the place.  I know some people say this is really mean but then others say it is better for them and those around it.  We are going to talk to the vet and see what he has to say about it.  I trust my family vet he took care of our beloved Clair for 13 years and I truly believe they love animals over there and only want what's best for them and take care of them as if they were their own pets.

So for now I have a cute little kitten named Firestone, I don't know if it is a boy or a girl, we think a girl but will find out soon.  I don't know how to take this cat yet, it is very playful, it purrs almost non stop when you sit by it or pet it, and it follows me everywhere right now.  I never would of guess that it was just an abandoned cat someone ditched outside of a shop.

I'll try to get a photo up soon but in the mean time what do I need to know about having a kitten?

Mom, Dad and Chris.....I told you I didn't get a puppy and I was going to tell you instead I got a cat on Sunday when I see you all for the game.  So if you are reading this "Surprise I got a cat!"  Sorry I didn't tell you when Chris called saying "You got a puppy didn't you" I just figured I would run with the whole nope didn't get a puppy thing.  I want to make sure the cat would even workout before I say anything so lets see how tonight and tomorrow goes.

Glad to hear that all is well with you! You look great in your pictures. :)

I'm more of a dog person. But, if I didn't have to clean up after a cat, maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
